Lanzarote Day 1 | 22.02.2008
After having some troubles with the journey - it took about 18 hours - we finally arrived at our hotel 'Hesperia Playa Dorada'. The flight was a bit uncomfortable because it took the pilot three trials and an unwanted excursion to the neighbour island Fuerteventura to finally land the damn plane.

After checking in we had a smooth ride of about one hour and a 30min jog.

Now after everything's packed (puh!) I just wanted to check in for one last time. As I've already mentioned
I'm not sure how I can handle the updates during the next few days. There's either the possibility to make
one huge update when I get back or (and I'm looking forward to that) give you guys almost daily impressions.

Anyway - stay tuned!

Just checked the weather forecast for the next week for the Canary Islands and
it looks like we'll have perfect training conditions.

2 days left... | 15.02.2008
With my plane leaving sunday morning from Stuttgart / Germany, I'll be enjoying much warmer temperatures and hopefully great training conditions in about 48 hours from now.

I'm not sure if I can get any internet connection there, but if I do, I'll try to make as many updates and photos as possible.

I expect to have two quite intense weeks, which will hopefully be a great start into a much greater season.

Can't wait to finally sit on my bike again (outside!)..

Go NY Giants! | 04.02.2008
Some non triathlon related news here - hope you guys don't mind...

After staying up the whole night (which was absolutely worth it) I got to see one of the most thrilling football games over the last few years. I wasn't quite sure whom to cheer with at the beginning, but it was obvious after what seemed like 20 seconds that the giants defenitely wanted the trophy more.

They won the game by doing a great job with their defence and the last three or four minutes and drives were simply stunning.

Congratulations to the Giants - the team who played with more heart and passion.
(and isn't that whats sports is all about?)

Status quo and best wishes | 01.02.2008
First of all I wish my two buddies Christoph and Thomas (photo) good luck for the European Championships in winter-triathlon in Gaishorn (AUT) tomorrow.
(for those of you, who are not up-to-date: winter-triathlon consists of running, biking and cross-country skiing)

You know guys: 'Go hard or go home' ;)
(You'll probably be finished when you read this, but anyway...)

On further news I'm finally feeling comfortable with my own training.
I think I'm doing just fine in the pool and also my running abilities are starting to come back.

Hope to make a few more updates and/or photos before I go to Lanza!

so far...
