A LITTLE MOTIVATION
Swimming is the worst part of a triathlon. If you stop peddaling on a bike, you coast. If you stop running, you walk, but if you stop swimming, you drown.

Training camp Lignano | 30.03.2010
Starting tomorrow I'll be spending the next 9-11 days in Lignano.

Let's hope that we'll be able to make some quality kilometers on the bike, although the weather forecast
is not looking that great.

I'll try to shoot some pictures...

Some new stuff | 29.03.2010
Since the last week has been a regenerative one, in order to prepare myself for the big training sessions which are
coming up, I found some time to renew and add a number of picbox-pictures and motivational quotes.

Hope you enjoy them!

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

Easter approaching | 21.03.2010
With the Easter holidays and the next three-week-training-block approaching and the cold temperatures finally
being gone, I have to admit that I'm not feeling too confident about my condition at all. For the first time in
three years, I had to stay at home during February while others already spent hundreds of kilometres on their bikes.

I tried my best to compensate that lack of training, though, spending two weekends in Lignano in a 50m pool (every
time about 30km in three days), but unfortunately my times are not getting any better.

Since there are still about 40 days to go until the first competitions this year, I am going to try my best to keep
up with a high quantity and quality of training, in order to satisfy you guys this summer.

I'm back | 29.03.2010
After a few quite unexciting months with nothing really happening on this website,
I think my motivation to focus on the homepage more regulary is back.
Some quick updates:

1) During the month of November I finally decided to resign from my old club
and joined the "Kelag Energy Running Team". I felt pretty comfortable right
from the beginning and am looking forward to a great coorperation for the following season.

2) With the temperatures dropping to sometimes even below zero degrees, it
is the perfect time to work on my swim technique and performance and to get
some kilometers in my running legs. At the moment I'm feeling quite a bit better
than I did last year around that time, but obviously there's still a lot of work to do.

3) As I have the next three weeks - starting Friday - off, I really hope that
I'll be able to do that bit of extra training that might get me up front next year ;)

I'll keep you updated!

Off season | 23.09.2009
With four and a half months and almost a dozen (partially very hard) competitions
in my legs and body this year, I finally entered the so called "off-season".
Being physically and mentally completely exhausted at the moment I can put
my running shoes and all the other triathlon stuff in the corner and don't
have to worry about training for a few weeks.

I strongly hope that I will be able to regenerate fast and maybe try out
some different sports, what I couldn't do for quite some time.

Somehow this seems to be the best time of the year ;)

Triathlon Bled | 09.09.2009
This year's triathlon season (more than four months of competing...phew) ended
with an Olympic distance (drafting race and Slovenian championships) in Bled.

Coming out of the water around 10th place I managed to get into a great bike
group, making up second after second to the guys before us. Although the
course was extremely difficult I felt quite okay during all six laps and finished in 7th
place among other strong international competitors after a nice and steady run.

1) PLESE DAVID (SLO) - 0:19:43 / 0:58:34 / 0:35:55 - 1:55:16
2) TOROK DANIJEL (HUN) - 0:19:24 / 1:01:46 / 0:33:52 - 1:56:07
3) KOVACIC JAROSLAV (SLO) - 0:19:21 / 1:01:44 / 0:34:17 - 1:57:31
4) PELAJ ALBERT (SLO) - 0:19:32 / 1:01:36 / 0:35:46 - 1:58:03
5) JANDL THOMAS (AUT) - 0:21:40 / 1:02:37 / 0:36:31 - 2:01:56
6) PAPAIS EDDY (ITA) - 0:19:21 / 1:04:54 / 0:37:25 - 2:02:59
7) SCHERWITZL BORIS (AUT) - 0:23:10 / 1:02:01 / 0:37:28 - 2:03:48

Season thoughts and foot problems | 31.08.2009
It's weird. I've already had quite a lot races this year, but not a single competition
was satisfying from the beginning to the end. Either the swim or the run worked fine,
but never both. I guess perfoming in both on a top level needs the perfect day (which I didn't
have yet) with a bit of luck on top of that.

For me personally the table turned lately. The competition's swim splits were getting
slightly better lately, but my running perfomances - especially in Udine and
Ferlach - can be described with two words: they sucked. Considering that (and the
fact that some important olympic distances are coming up by the end of August / the
beginning of September) I decided to reduce and change the training a bit, including
weeks with less intensity and the goal to get the foundation back.

Unfortunately - after enhancing the intensity again when I was well rested - my
body is showing first signs of a long season. During the long jog last Thursday
I felt a stabbing pain in my foot, making it almost impossible to walk afterwards.

Now one week later, I am quite sure that it's not a severe injury, but only a little pain
due to overstress. Still it's very annoying.
