Setback to almost zero | 16.02.2009 |
I think God hates me.
It was almost only one day after I wrote the enthusiastic entry last
time, when the next illness knocked on my door and destroyed my
whole planning all over again.
First it started with a simple cold, but then my throat started swelling
day after day until it got pretty serious and I could barely breathe.
Spending up to 40-hour shifts without sleep, I soon had to realize,
that a few days without training wouldn't quite do it and I finally ended up
spending one week in bed and another one and a half without any
physical activities (which ended yesterday).
It seems like it's almost gone now and I will try to do my "second first"
training exercise this evening, but unfortunately it looks like I've missed the
last few comfortable days in November.

Back to business | 28.10.2008 |
Before I begin I wanna say, that I know that I'm a long time behind
with the updates and that it has been almost two months, since you
last heard of me, but I really needed to take a break and get away
from all this for a while.
But now, after the mostly unexciting month of september and the
very stressing first october weeks I'll promise to write periodical
updates again.
Considering training it is obviously very hard getting into it again
and my body doesn't respond as well as I'd like (did it always feel
that bad..?), but at least I'm out doing things again.
My plan for the upcoming months shows that I'll defenitely need to
do lots of quality kilometres in the pool, realised with a high
number of sessions right from the beginning which will be supported
by a month-per-month duration increase within every training.
I'll keep ya all posted how it goes and hope to see every one of you sometime soon!

new stuff | 07.09.2008 |
With much more training-free time available now, I found time to update the homepage with about 30 new random pics and more than 60 "did-you-knows".
Enjoy!
P.S: Unfortunately, I didn't find any good competition photos from Pörtschach, so I won't bother you with the bad ones.

It's over... | 02.09.2008 |
Today, exactly four months after my first competition this year, I finished my competitive season 08 with mixed feelings. I know it's a bit early, but I'm physical
and psychical exhausted and it takes twice as long to regeneratve from an intensive training session - which is not a good sign afterall.
The next four weeks I will do anything but triathlon and I'll try to set the first step for an amazing season 2009.

Wörthersee Triathlon | 02.09.2008 |
After enjoying a quite relaxing and sports-free week, where I almost
thought (and hoped!) that the season 2008 is finally over, I got a last-minute phone call saturday night with a request to join a relay at the "Wörthersee Triathlon" olympic distance event, which took place this weekend.
Being completely surprised and out of training I wasn't sure to even survive this hard and hilly 36k bike course, but - to my own surprise - it went very well.
Despite a short time-loss caused by a technical defect, I was able to make it into T2 first (mostly because of the big lead that we already had after the swim leg). In the end we won the relay ranking very clearly, which made the "legendary company relay" unbeatable once again!
I want to thank my two team mates (and first minute homepage-viewers) at this point and I'm looking forward to some more relay competitions next year.
Go hard or go home, guys!
Pictures from the competition are not available yet, but I will keep you updated as soon as they are! |

I had no time to edit them a bit - which will be done tomorrow or the day after -, but here are the first pictures form the "Faaker See"-event:
